ART OF TOMORROW
ART AND ECONOMICS: GLOBAL CITIES, GLOBAL STORIES, GLOBAL TOURISM
Building cities builds nations, and the economic bedrock of almost all arts- and culture-based urban development is tourism. But, amongst the proliferation of museums, the corresponding growth in demand for content, and the disruptive influence of the digital revolution, for a museum to draw tourists is not enough. Future success depends on the social and economic sustainability of the cultural sector and how the cultural experience is defined and delivered not only to highly educated cultural nomads, but to the local community.
